Once upon a time, Ellen — a functional nutritionist — bought veggies from Ben — a cute produce farmer — at the farmers market.

Their shared love of all things FOOD was an immediate connection (their first conversation was about pros & cons of GMOs in the food supply).

It didn’t take long before they fell in love, got married, and moved to the farm.

One day, they realized that Ben’s business “Hintz Produce” was quickly outgrowing its name (kinda like their soon-to-be family of 4 was outgrowing their 400sqft tiny house, but that’s a story for another time).

Drawing inspiration (and shared mission) from Ellen’s nutrition education business (Made Whole Nutrition), they decided to name their expanding farm & food brand MADE WHOLE FARM + FOOD CO.

Made Whole Farm + Food Co. is still the same faces (and veggies) of Hintz Produce, but is also expanding to offer spring plant starts, fall mums, winter Christmas trees, pasture-raised meats, and SWITCHEL (the first of many whole-food products featuring “superfoods from the prairie”).

At the end of the day, we are simply passionate about providing the highest quality food for our family and yours!
