Position Overview
We’re looking for Farmers Market Ambassadors to run our booths at the Lincoln, Grand Island, and Kearney, Nebraska markets.
This role is about more than selling--it’s about creating a welcoming + relational experience, educating about whole foods, and representing the heart behind Made Whole Food Co.

May 23 – October 24 (23 markets)
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Setup begins around 6:30 AM
Saturday - Kearney Farmers Market
May 2 – October 24 (26 markets)
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Setup begins around 7:00 AM
Saturday – Lincoln Haymarket Farmers Market*
May 2 – October 10 (24 markets)
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Setup begins around 7:00 AM
Sunday – Lincoln Collegeview Farmers Market**
April 26 – October 25 (27 markets)
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Special hours: May 10 & 24 → 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Setup begins 1 hour before market
*If applying for Lincoln markets, please indicate on application if you are able to work one or both. Ideally the Lincoln FM Ambassador would be able to cover both Saturday + Sunday markets each weekend, but we recognize this is a significant commitment for the summer. We are open to building a small team if necessary.
**It’s important to us that market participation feels life-giving, restful, and relationship-centered, especially on Sundays. We want this role to fit into a healthy rhythm of life, including time for worship, rest, and community. Please indicate on application if working the Sunday market in Lincoln would interfere with your day of rest, as it will not interfere with your qualification for hire.
Qualifications
Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with people
Reliable and punctual
Strong communication and personal responsibility
Interest in whole foods, health, or local agriculture
Able to lift 30–40 lbs and handle market setup
Responsibilities
Purchase a bag of ice before each market
Arrive ~1 hour early for setup (must be ready 30 minutes before market start)
Set up booth (tent, table, signage, product display, sampling station)
Prepare and serve samples of switchel
Engage customers and share the story of Made Whole Food Co.
Answer basic questions about ingredients and products
Process sales (card, cash, tokens if applicable)
Maintain a clean, inviting booth space
Ensure booth complies with all food service requirements
Communicate with market staff for reporting requirements
Pack down booth after market
Weekly responsibilities:
Track and report inventory (switchel flavors, cups, sparkling water, etc.)
Log sales in a shared Google spreadsheet (bottles sold, payment types, etc.)
Coordinate with team/approved substitues if you are not able to cover a particular weekend
Other capacities:
Storage of switchel inventory in a provided upright fridge/freezer (ie in a garage or shed)
Storage of booth supplies (tent, table, cups, cooler, etc)
Reliable transportation able to fit all supplies and inventory for transport to and from markets

Training & Support
We will be present your first market to:
Help you set up
Train you on serving samples
Walk through product knowledge and customer interaction
Our goal is for you to feel confident and comfortable representing the brand.
Compensation
$4 per bottle sold
Typical sales at similar markets ~24–30 bottles per market, and there is strong potential to exceed average with engagement + consistency
